Fifty-Five (55) Mushroom Harvesters in Dundas, ON Job

Piccioni Bros. Mushroom Farm Ltd. is looking for Fifty-Five (55) Mushroom Harvesters to perform the following duties:

• Select, harvest and trim mushrooms using a harvesting knife (paid hourly/piece rate)
• Sort and place into bulk boxes or various sized containers (paid hourly)
• Weigh, prepare and package mushrooms (paid hourly)
• Work in warm/cold environment
• Handle weight of up to 25 lbs.
• Work quickly while paying attention to quality/detail
• Make, fold and fill appropriate boxes and containers i.e. cell packs (paid hourly)
• Load and unload mushroom boxes from harvesting trolley directly to mushroom buggies and move them to the coolers and packing areas (paid hourly)
• Clean and prepare the growing rooms, working areas and clean harvesting tools (paid hourly).

Work Location:
• Rural area

Terms of Employment:
• Salary: $17.60 per hour or piece rate (provided quality/picking objectives are met) whichever is higher
• 40-60 hours/ week
• Permanent, Full-Time
• Start date: immediately
• Benefits: Extended health care coverage

Skills Requirements:
• Education: No education requirement; training in farming, such as farm equipment mechanics, agricultural welding, tree pruning and pesticide application an asset
• Experience: relevant experience an asset
