Job Overview

ARE Telecommunications is hiring experienced Fiber Technicians for Lumos (T-Mobile Fiber) operations in Birmingham, AL.

This is a 100% fiber role — no coax work. We are looking for technicians who can step in, run jobs independently, and maintain both quality and production without constant oversight.

Responsibilities -
Perform fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) installs and service calls
Install and activate ONTs, routers, and fiber connections
Run fiber drops and complete inside wiring
Troubleshoot fiber signal and connectivity issues
Ensure clean, professional installations
Maintain productivity and complete assigned workload
Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams

Requirements (READ BEFORE APPLYING) -
? Fiber experience REQUIRED
? Ability to complete jobs start-to-finish independently
? Must have your own vehicle capable of carrying a ladder
? Must have your own tools and fiber equipment
? Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
? Ability to pass background check and drug screening

Preferred Experience -
Lumos or T-Mobile Fiber experience
Familiarity with ONTs, light meters, and fiber testing tools
Experience with drop placement and routing
