Overview:
Seeking a Fastener Application Engineer to provide onsite technical support for fastener joint design, validation, testing, and issue resolution. Must have strong knowledge of fastener materials, coatings, torque development, and assembly processes.

Fastener joint design & validation
Torque development & tightening strategies
Fastener materials, coatings, installation techniques
Engineering drawings, specifications, test data interpretation
Analytical problem-solving & technical reporting
Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, suppliers
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
3–5 years fastener engineering or joint design experience
Strong knowledge of fastener testing methods (torque-to-failure, torque-to-yield, torque-tension, clamp-load, ultrasonic)
Excellent communication & collaboration skills
Preferred Skills:
PRS commodity support (Powertrain/Engine Systems)
Automotive product development, launch, or Plant issue resolution
Familiarity with engineering work order, product data, change management systems
Lean/Six Sigma knowledge
Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise for fastener applications across design, validation, and issue resolution
Conduct joint reviews, recommend fasteners, torque specs, and design improvements
Coordinate lab testing, analyze results, and document recommendations.
Support vehicle development, launch, and Plant issue investigations
Prepare technical reports and drive continuous improvement in fastener engineering processes
