Farm Worker - Harvesting Job

Prepare and irrigate soil.
Plant, fertilize, thin and harvest crops
Pick row and orchard crops.
Sort, weigh and pack fruit and vegetables at the farm.
Load, unload and transfer crates, supplies, farm produce and products for transport
Clean up racks, trays, and harvest bins and general clean-up of growing, producing and packing areas
Assist with general farm maintenance and maintenance of equipment and tools
May assist in preparing garden beds for planting
May write daily progress reports of inventory harvested

Physical Stamina and Endurance:

Ability to work long hours, often in outdoor environments, under varying weather conditions.
Capable of lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Attention to Detail:

Carefully selecting, cutting, or picking crops at the right stage of ripeness.
Ensuring that produce is not damaged during the harvesting process.

Basic Agricultural Knowledge:

Familiarity with different crops and their harvest timelines.
Knowledge of proper harvesting techniques for specific crops.

Manual Dexterity:

Skill in using tools such as knives, scissors, or harvesters.
Ability to handle crops gently to avoid bruising or damage.

Ability to work effectively with a team, coordinating tasks to meet production goals.
Good communication skills to follow instructions and report any issues.

Ability to lift heavy baskets, boxes, or containers filled with crops.
Handling large amounts of harvested produce efficiently.
