Employment Terms: Full Time – Permanent
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Coordinate, assign, and supervise the daily work of farm machinery operators, harvesting labourers, and other farm workers.
2.Supervise and monitor crop production activities, including planting, cultivation, irrigation, spraying, harvesting, and other crop-related operations.
3.Monitor crop health and ensure that established procedures and practices are followed to maintain proper crop growth and production.
4.Ensure that farm operation safety procedures and protocols are followed.
5.Operate farm machinery and equipment used in crop production and other farm operations.
6.Supervise the maintenance and proper use of farm infrastructure, machinery, equipment, and supplies.
7.Monitor work quality and ensure farm safety and security procedures are followed.
8.Train and provide guidance to farm workers as required.
9.May operate and repair digital technology and communication tools and equipment, such as global positioning systems (GPS).
10.Perform day-to-day general farm duties and maintain records of farm activities.
Employment Requirements:
1.Education: Completion of secondary school education is required2.Work Experience: At least 1-year on farm working experience as a machine operator and/or harvest worker.3.Class 1 driver’s license is required.4.Knowledge about day-to-day grain farm operation.5.Knowledge about farm machinery maintenance, operation and settings.6.Knowledge about data entry of schedules and records is an asset.
Working Hours: 6-9 hours/day, 30-45 hours/week; number of hours and schedule can extend and vary depending on stage of production and season; work schedule is between 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Sunday; 2 varied days off per week
Wage/Benefits: $25.00/hour / Disability Insurance after 3 months probation period
