is in need of Farm Supervisor (Dairy Farm)

Employment Terms: Full Time – Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist owner with hiring, managing and training of farm personnel.
2. Supervise and oversee breeding programs.
3. Supervise, monitor and enforce procedures to maintain animal and crop health and welfare.
4. Supervise and co-ordinate pasture maintenance and forage harvesting activities.
5. Manage crop and forage inventories, and feed out to livestock.
6. Maintain Organic Certification paperwork as it relates to pasture management and forage.
7. Supervise maintenance of infrastructure, equipment, and supplies.
8. Ensure farm safety, food safety and security and bio-security procedures are followed.
9. Maintain quality control and production records.
10. May operate and repair digital technology and communication tools and equipment, such as parlour and robotic milking systems.
11. Perform other general farm duties.

Employment Requirements:
1. Education: Some secondary education is required.
2. Work Experience: At least 2 years experience working and handling livestock in a dairy farm is required.
3. Experience in Organic Cropping, or Holistic Management methods an asset, but not required.
4. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
5. Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Willingness to work overtime as required.

Working Hours: 40 – 50 hours/week; shift work between 5:00 AM – 10:00 PM; working hours may vary depending on stage of production; 1 varied day off per week

Wage: $22.00/hour
