FARM SUPERVISOR Job

Job Purpose
Under the general direction of the Greenhouse Manager, the Farm supervisors perform some or all the following duties: Co-ordinate, assign and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers. Supervise, monitor, and enforce procedures to maintain crop health and welfare.

Job Requirements

• Supervise and report workers performance
• Provide reports on worker quality and task efficiency
• Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of workers while they perform duties such as spray, twist, and prune, picking, packing, and so forth
• Supervise and co-ordinate the activities for bell pepper and cucumber packing lines as needed. Jobs include quality checks, filling boxes on the scales, box stacking, VA packing etc.
• Establish work schedules and procedure
• Co-ordinate activities with other work units
• Resolve work-related issues and problems
• Prepare and submit progress and relative reports
• Train workers in job duties such as: twist and prune, picking, packing and company policies
• Train workers in job duties of packing lines as: quality checks, filling boxes on the scales, box stacking, VA packing etc.
• Requisition supplies and materials
• Competent with integrated pest management compliance
• Adhere to and the environmental, health & safety policies of the Company
• Follow the Company policies to help create a safe, healthy, and positive working environment for all staff
• May be required to perform the same duties as workers supervised.
• 2 years’ experience per the above preferred
