is in need of Farm Hand (Dairy Farm)
NOC Code: 85100
Employment Terms: Full Time – Permanent
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Milk approximately 100 dairy cows, twice a day using an automated double 10 DeLeval P500 parlour.
2. Operate, maintain, clean, and sanitize milking equipment and the milking parlour.
3. Feed, handle, monitor, and provide daily care for the dairy herd, calves, and young stock.
4. Observe cattle for signs of illness, injury, or locomotion problems, and record and report concerns to the hoof health technician or supervisor.
5. Perform routine barn duties, including cleaning stalls, bedding livestock, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
6. Assist with harvesting, transporting, storing, and preparing hay and corn silage for feeding the dairy herd.
7. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment used in feeding, harvesting, and general farm operations, as required.
8. Carry out other general farm duties as assigned to support the daily operation of the dairy farm.
Employment Requirements:
1. Education: Some secondary education is required.
2. Work Experience: Previous experience is an asset but not required. On-the-job training will be provided to the right candidate.
Working Hours: 30-50 hours/week, normal work schedule is between 5:30 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday to Sunday; 1-3 varied days off per week depending on operational requirement.
Wage: $18.00/hour
