Facility Electrician (Low Voltage) Job

Explore St. Louis / America’s Center is seeking an experienced Low Voltage Electrician to install, maintain, and repair technology, data, network, and electrical wiring and all electrical and electronic appliances and equipment within the America’s Center Building Complex (including the Dome at America’s Center). This includes lighting power and control systems, power transformers, BAC-net devices, HVAC sensors, control boards. temperature controls, network and communication equipment, radio equipment, distributed audio systems, IP-Cameras, fire alarm systems, security access devices, video displays, MATV, motors, and generators. This position will also require working at heights on ladders, scaffolding, and motorized aerial work platforms.

This position works directly with the maintenance + carpenter trades staff to maintain the operating standards of the building complex. In addition, this position will interface with contractors, decorators and building staff in regard to electrical work within the facility.

The ideal candidate will exercise sound judgment and initiative, with demonstrated experience in low voltage electrical repairs. High school diploma/GED and six years of progressively responsible journeyman-level electrical experience is required; or completion of a four-year IBEW approved technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance combined with two years of electrical experience. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be accepted. Knowledge of electrical operations, safety and OSHA standards is critical. This position is part of the bargaining unit represented by IBEW Local 1. Flexibility to work all shifts including days/nights, weekends and holidays is required; along with the ability to pass a drug screen and background check. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is essential.
