Job Description:
Exercise Physiologist is needed to perform the following duties :
• Carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction in patients in the observation of the Physical therapist.
• Perform and document data to verify patient’s health and progress during the therapy on a daily basis and notify supervising Physical Therapists.
• Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and perform treatments to achieve maximum benefit accordingly.
• Test and measure patient's strength, motor development and function, sensory perception, functional capacity, or respiratory or circulatory efficiency and record data.
• Review physician's referral and patient's medical records to help determine further treatment required and update or notify it to supervising Physical Therapist and other rehab team members.
• Obtain patients' informed consent to proposed interventions.
• Administers physical therapy treatments by giving massages, manual therapy, strengthening and stretching exercise, applying physical agents like moist packs, TENS, electric stimulation, and ultrasound machines; in the observation of the Physical therapist and directing treatments given by aides, technicians.
• Record prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enter information into the computer.
• Notify the Supervising Physical Therapist to Inform other team members to refer to appropriate practitioners when diagnosis reveals findings outside physical therapy.
• Inform about Patient’s Discharge from physical therapy to the team when goals or projected outcomes have been attained.
• Advising and preparing the patient and family about in- home treatment options and exercises before discharge from physical therapy.
• Maintains patient confidence and protects medical records by keeping information confidential.
Bachelors degree is required in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology or Physical Therapy or Physiotherapy
