Salary: Hourly Rate of $43.00 for 35 hours per week.

POSITION SUMMARY:
NextGen Demolition & Excavation Inc. is seeking an experienced Excavator Foreman to supervise and coordinate excavation and demolition activities for residential construction projects. The successful candidate will oversee excavation crews, operate heavy equipment when require, and ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of workers operating excavators and other heavy equipment involved in residential demolition, basement excavation, land clearing, and site preparation projects.
• Plan and organize daily work schedules to ensure excavation, demolition, backfilling, and grading tasks are completed efficiently and within project timelines.
• Coordinate work activities with project managers, contractors, and other site supervisors to ensure smooth progress of construction and site servicing operations.
• Order and manage the delivery of materials and supplies required for excavation and site preparation activities, including gravel, backfill materials, and other construction resources.
• Resolve operational issues on site and recommend improvements to work methods to enhance productivity, safety, and overall project performance.
• Train and supervise equipment operators, labourers, and helpers to ensure proper excavation techniques and compliance with workplace safety standards.
• Participate in staffing decisions by recommending hiring, training, or promotion of crew members based on performance and operational needs.
• Prepare daily work logs, production reports, and safety documentation related to excavation and demolition activities.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of apprentices, helpers, and construction labourers assisting with excavation, land clearing, grading, and related site services.
• In a small business environment, may also operate excavation equipment and perform hands-on tasks related to demolition, excavation, and site preparation as required.
• Resolve operational issues and staff concerns during the shift and implement corrective actions as required.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Education: Completion of High School is usually required.
• Experience: 2 years of experience in the field.
• Languages: Fluent in verbal and written English
