Environmental Health & Safety Team Leader 2nd shift Job

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


* Assist in performing monthly safety training and new hire orientations (Must have knowledge in safety related topics and ability to speak in front of large groups).
* Take an active role in participating in both the safety committee and first aid teams.
* Track safety audit scores and follow-up on corrective actions.
* Develop topic specific audits for individual departments.
* Print safety related signage; including LO/TO tags, pinch point signs, LO/TO procedures, etc.
* Must be a current member of either safety committee or first aid team.
* Excellent personal computer skills in a network environment; Microsoft products experience preferred – Outlook-Word-Excel.
* Provide a safe work environment.
* Support efforts by the American Woodmark team members to strive for continuous improvement.
* Perform other tasks as directed by the Department Supervisor.

COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Safety Assistant is required to be able to communicate with all employees, at all levels, through written and oral communication. This communication may require presenting and teaching groups of people. They must demonstrate effective daily communication with required plant personnel. Responsibilities also include assisting in training other employees.
