The Enterprise Application Architect is a strategic individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Enterprise Architecture. This individual will be a senior member of the Enterprise Architecture organization responsible for developing application architecture strategy across the company. The role will drive the creation and maintenance of enterprise application capability architecture blueprints and integrated roadmaps that guide our strategic investments and enterprise initiatives.

Distinguishing Characteristics:


  • This is the advanced IT architect level who designs enterprise-wide systems and applications for major projects.

  • Uses specialized IT knowledge to resolve complex application problems related to architectures for a major complex project.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Has competencies and exhibits strong thought-leadership in the digital architecture domain, including digital applications, modern web app architecture, mobility architecture, cloud-native application architecture, microservices architecture, integration & interoperability.

  • Develops the target state architecture for complex projects, which defines the end-to-end solution for any given strategic or complex project within BSC and is utilized as source of truth for planning and execution across business and technical domains.

  • Drives relevant solution activities such as impact assessments, solution definition, release scoping and design walk through.

  • Develops long-term policies, blueprints, standards, patterns and guidelines that direct the selection, development and implementation and use of Information Technology with the enterprise.

  • Confirms and supports release planning for enterprise wide releases

  • Participates in project life cycle phases such as requirements, design reviews, release synch points and deployment for complex projects

  • Serves as a consultant to Directors and above providing communications/report and definition of solutions.

  • Serves as escalation point for Solution Design issue resolution

  • Provides expertise to support scope change management

  • Guides and manages solution analysis activities

  • Works with other architects, developers and vendors to create and oversee compliance with architectural industry standards

  • Works with product managers, project managers, and development staff to identify architecture tasks and requirements

  • Creates frameworks and models for components of integrated design solutions

  • Ability to tailor communications to the executive level as well as to developers

Qualifications:

Education/Credentials:

  • 8+ years of relevant business and IT experience, MS or MBA preferred

  • 3+ years of experience implementing business applications

  • 2+ years defining high level design for one or more business domains

  • Demonstrated proficiency in understanding enterprise architecture life cycle methodologies

  • Interpersonal and leadership skills that demonstrate collaboration, facilitation, negotiation, conflict management and influence
