Job Description:
Our client is building an entirely new category — AI interpretability for marketing and GTM — helping Fortune 500 brands understand how AI models perceive and recommend them. They're looking for an Engagement Lead, AI Strategy to serve as the trusted strategic advisor guiding these clients through that emerging landscape, owning engagements end-to-end and translating research into decisions that move the business.
What You'll Be Doing:
Owning a portfolio of client engagements — ramping up on each client's business model, understanding their objectives, and turning AI research into actionable strategic recommendations
Working directly with VP/Director-level stakeholders and helping them present findings to CMOs and CEOs
Translating business problems into research hypotheses for the AI simulation lab, then synthesizing findings into clear narratives and growth experiments
Using Claude Code and internal systems to generate analyses, run explorations, and prototype new capabilities
Collaborating with co-founders to define and refine the engagement methodology as the company scales
Who You Are:
3–7 years of experience in strategy consulting or client advisory work with C-suite stakeholders, fitting one of two profiles:
Archetype 1 — Ex-consultant, startup-tested: Strategy consulting background (Bain, McKinsey, BCG, or similar), under 5 years in consulting, who has already made the move to an early-stage startup (ideally Series B or earlier, Series C at the latest at time of joining).
Archetype 2 — GTM strategist with enterprise chops: Agency or product marketing strategist who has sold complex services into Fortune 500 accounts, working directly with VP/Director/C-suite stakeholders on GTM, sales, or marketing strategy.
Experience at a high-growth startup (e.g., Scale AI, Handshake, or similar) in a client-facing or deployment role is a plus, as is time spent as a Chief of Staff or in a similarly high-ownership, ambiguous role at an early-stage company.
Across both archetypes, you should have:
The ability to dissect unfamiliar business models and translate them into strategic recommendations — demonstrated across multiple industries, both B2B and B2C
Confidence and clarity advising senior executives, even amid ambiguity and high autonomy
Willingness and ability to work daily in Claude Code and other AI-native tools (this will be tested in the interview)
A high degree of earnestness and integrity — a transparent communicator who takes the harder, more honest path rather than playing politics, and thrives in open, trust-based team cultures
A degree from a top-tier university is a plus (signal of analytical rigor), as is understanding of marketing attribution, growth metrics, and how GTM leaders measure impact
