Electrician Job

Shift: 12hr Continental Rotating Shift

Full-Time Permanent Position

Responsibilities:
• Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on production equipment, automated machinery, control systems, and facility electrical systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and automation issues involving PLCs, HMIs, sensors, VFDs, drives, relays, motor controls, conveyors, and other automated manufacturing equipment.
• Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance, identify recurring equipment issues, and recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability and overall production efficiency.
• Support the installation, commissioning, modification, and upgrading of new and existing production equipment and electrical systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment documentation to effectively troubleshoot and repair systems.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, contractors, and equipment vendors to resolve technical issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, document repairs, and provide recommendations for equipment improvements and replacement.
• Follow all electrical, health and safety, and regulatory requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), while maintaining a safe working environment.

Qualifications
• Valid Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) as a 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician or 442A Industrial Electrician.
• Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably within a manufacturing or automated production environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills with industrial electrical systems, machinery, controls, and automation equipment.
• Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), Lockout/Tagout procedures, preventive maintenance practices, and industrial safety standards.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, hoists/cranes, and automated production equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Working knowledge of industrial facility systems such as boilers, chillers, HVAC, and other plant utilities.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience coordinating or monitoring work performed by external contractors, service providers, and equipment vendors is an asset.
