Electrician (NOC 72200) Job

Read and interpret electrical drawings, circuit diagrams, and building plans to determine wiring layouts and installation procedures.

Install, examine, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment in residential and commercial buildings.

Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety.

Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components.

Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.

Connect power to audio and visual communication equipment, signaling devices, heating and cooling systems, and other electrical equipment.

Ensure compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code, municipal building codes, and occupational health and safety standards.

Collaborate with site supervisors, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure timely project completion.

Maintain tools and equipment and ensure a clean and safe worksite at all times.

Train and supervise apprentices as required.
