Electrical Apparatus Mechanic

Dorplex Industries Ltd., a leading Canadian manufacturer of custom steel and fiberglass entry systems, doors, windows, and patio doors based in North York, Toronto (100 Norfinch Dr.), has been delivering quality, durable, and elegant building products for over 30 years. Key Responsibilities
• Inspect and evaluate electrical, electronic, and mechanical elements using diagnostic tools and instruments.
• Diagnose issues and restore functionality to electric motors, transformers, control panels, generators, and related electro-mechanical systems.
• Restore or install new shafts, bearings, commutators, and similar parts as needed.
• Fabricate, construct, and fit diverse coil types for motors and transformers.
• Balance armatures or rotors through static/dynamic methods, including soldering, welding, brazing of connections, and precise part alignment.
• Diagnose and fix defective wiring or elements within electrical control systems.
• Validate performance of refurbished equipment like motors, transformers, and panels post-repair.
• Conduct limited machining to customize or refurbish components such as shafts or commutators.
• Provide field service and maintenance at client locations.
Requirements:
• Secondary education diploma is required
• Minimum one (1) year of experience assisting with repair or maintenance of electrical apparatus, motors, transformers, or similar equipment in a shop, service center, or industrial setting.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Capacity to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Compensation and conditions:
• Full-time, permanent position consisting of at least 35 weekly work hours
• The remuneration will be set at CAD$36.00 per hour
• Overtime pay will apply after 44 hours of work per week
• Primary business location: 100 Norfinch Drive, Toronto, Ontario, M3N 1X1.
