Position: Education Counsellor (NOC 41405)
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time (30-40 hours per week), Day, Morning, Afternoon, TBD
Hourly Wage: $24.00 to $30.00 per hour
Expected Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: 199 Queen Charlotte Way SE, Calgary, Alberta, Canada T2J 4H9
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Plan, design, and develop foreign language curricula and instructional programs for students at different proficiency levels, ensuring alignment with general and specific learning objectives.
• Collaborate with instructors in the implementation, delivery, and continuous improvement of foreign language programs.
• Analyze and recommend appropriate teaching materials, textbooks, and educational resources to support curriculum effectiveness.
• Design, coordinate, and deliver workshops, training sessions, and professional development activities for instructors related to foreign language teaching methodologies and program delivery.
• Develop educational resources, including lesson frameworks, classroom activities, assessment tools, evaluation materials, and instructional guides
• Design formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
• Support instructors and education staff in maintaining an effective and structured learning environment.
• Participate in academic meetings, curriculum review sessions, and education planning discussions with administration and instructors.
• Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of education programs and institutional teaching standards.
• Provide limited academic guidance to students regarding course selection, program structure, and study planning, as needed to support program implementation.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree
- Several (3 or more) years of previous experience in education field
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of foreign language education programs and student support services is an asset
