• Support colleagues with cleaning and meal preparation tasks.
• Design and execute childcare programs that encourage the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth of children.
• Assess the overall circumstances of the children and relay this information to their parents.
• Help early childhood educators or supervisors with record-keeping.
• Engage children in activities by storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
• Guide and support children in developing appropriate habits for eating, dressing, and using the toilet.
• Prepare refreshments and organize spaces or furniture for meal and relaxation times.
• Monitor children for indications of possible learning or behavioural issues and compile reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
• Understand licensing requirements and regulations.
• Evaluate the children's growth to create a personalized learning plan based on their needs.
• Oversee staff members, trainees, or volunteers.
• Assist early childhood educators in implementing programs that foster the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• Participate in staff meetings to review children's progress and address any issues.
• Design and maintain a safe environment that ensures the health, security, and well-being of children.
• Plan and arrange activities for school-aged children in childcare programs before and after regular school hours.
