North End Community Day Care Centre is a licensed non-profit facility where trained Early Childhood Educators are committed to providing a nurturing, stimulating environment with high-quality childcare services for all families in the community. We firmly believe that Early Year's Education is a right of every child. Our highly sensitive and trained educators are committed to the center. We try and maintain a low child-to-teacher ratio; and are committed to make learning creative and fun in a clean and healthy play space.

We are currently looking for toddler and preschool teachers to join our team.

Position: Full time Toddler or Preschool Educator

Salary: $27.07 - $31.56 (depends on level and years of experience)

Start Date: TBD (estimation is two months as we are expanding)

Shift: Monday – Friday, 8hrs per day, shifts are rotated monthly

Responsibilities:
• Follow Nova Scotia Framework and Guidelines
• Develop, implement, and assess daily, play-based programs and learning environments.
• Provide high-quality care to children
• Respond sensitively to the needs of the children
• Bond & form relationships with children, staff, and families
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children
• Communicate with parents at drop-off & pick-up
• Work with colleagues to maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.
• Classroom maintenance (i.e., sweeping, mopping, garbage etc.)
• Assist children with routines such as toileting/diapering, dressing, feeding, etc.
• Create a safe & welcoming environment

Requirements:
• Nova Scotia Early Childhood Classification Level 2, or 3
• Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check conducted within the last year
• Clear Child Abuse Registry Check conducted within the last year
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C Certification
• Experience working in a childcare setting is preferred
