Job Duties:

• Assist and Support Childhood educators in designing and implementing age-appropriate programs and activities that support and promote the learning and development of children.
• Engage children in activities by narrating stories, playing songs, and organizing outings to nearby places of interest.
• Assist the children during snack and break time.
• Support children in the development of day-to-day activities like proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
• Prepare a progress report of each child and submit a report to the Childhood educator.
• Maintain regular communication with childhood educators to update them on the child's progress and implement strategies made by Childhood educators to support the child's development at home.
• Maintain the equipment of our childcare and assist in housekeeping.
• Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
• Adhere to the Code of Ethics and guidelines in childcare set by the governing bodies.

• Completion of secondary school is preferred.
• Completion of an early childhood education assistant certificate program or a post-secondary certificate in child development would be preferred.
• Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate would be preferred.
• 6 months experience as an Early Child Educator or related field would be an asset.
