Permanent Position: Drywall Installer

Wage rate: $36.60 per hour for 40 hours per week
Education: Secondary School Education Certificate
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Job Duties:
•Apply multiple layers of compound and sand the seams and joints
•Cut and install metal corner beads to protect the outside corners
•Build and install metal ceiling grids, then add panels to create acoustic or coffered ceilings
•Fill in holes, cracks, and dents with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
•Measure, cut, and fit drywall sheets
•Attach the sheets to metal or wood studs or joists
•Smooth out extra compound and let it dry
•Tape over the joints with a taping machine and press the tape into the compound
•Estimate the cost of materials needed
