Drywall Finisher Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Drywall Finisher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing and finishing drywall surfaces to create smooth, paint-ready walls and ceilings in residential or commercial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Tape and finish drywall seams using joint compound and tape
Apply multiple coats of compound and sand surfaces to a smooth finish
Repair cracks, holes, and imperfections in drywall
Measure, cut, and fit drywall panels as needed
Ensure all surfaces are level, smooth, and ready for painting or finishing
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
Collaborate with other tradespeople to meet project deadlines

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a drywall finisher or similar role
Knowledge of drywall installation and finishing techniques
Ability to use hand and power tools (taping knives, sanders, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in both residential and commercial projects
Familiarity with different finishing textures and techniques
Basic knowledge of painting or plastering is an asset

Working Conditions:

Physically demanding work (lifting, standing, bending)
Work may take place indoors at construction sites or renovation projects
May require working at heights or on scaffolding
