Position Info:

• Position: Early Childhood Program Supervisor
• Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
• Wage: $28.00~$37.00/hour (depending on experience)
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
• Number of Positions: 1
• Work Location: 1116 – 1470 Prairie Avenue, Port Coquitlam, BC V3B 5M8

Job Duties:

• Develop and execute childcare programs to enhance children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
• Lead activities such as storytelling, singing, and visits to local points of interest.
• Assess children’s development to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs.
• Provide guidance to children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
• Maintain daycare equipment and assist with co-workers in housekeeping responsibilities.
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
• Foster collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers supporting children.
• Create and maintain a secure and healthy environment for children.
• Oversee and coordinate the activities of other early childhood educators and assistants.
• Discuss children’s progress and issues at staff meetings and provide written reports to early childhood educators or supervisors.
• Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare report for parents, guardians or supervisor.
• Check the supplies for educational programs and order equipment as needed.
• Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors.

Job requirements:

• Language: English
• Experience: Experience as an Early Childhood Educator is an asset
• Education: Two-to-four-year college certificate or diploma in early childhood education is required
• Certificate: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and E.C.E. Certificate
