Position: Drafting Technologist

Duration: Full Time
Location: 160 Commander Blvd, Scarborough, ON M1S 3C8
Salary: $43.26 per hour–The gross salary paid is subject to applicable Federal and Provincial income taxes and other statutory deductions.
Other benefits: Optional group insurance benefits including medical, dental and eyecare coverage on cost sharing basis
Weekly hours: 32-40; Overtime rate (X1.5) applicable after 44 hours of work per week
Vacation: 4% of the gross salary
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
• Create detailed technical drawings and schematics based on specifications and requirements.
• Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop and modify drawings.
• Ensure that all drawings adhere to industry standards and company guidelines.
• Work closely with engineers to understand project requirements and constraints.
• Assist in the design process by providing technical insights and suggestions.
• Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for all drafted components.
• Develop and update specifications, standards, and guidelines for drafting projects.
• Ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant team members.
• Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
• Participate in quality control processes to ensure the precision of metal components.
• Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely completion of drafting tasks.
• Track progress of drafting projects and report any issues or delays.
• Provide detailed drawings and specifications to the manufacturing team.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
• Ensure that drawings are aligned with the capabilities and constraints of manufacturing equipment.
• Continuously improve drafting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Job Requirements:
• A minimum of one-year experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD in a manufacturing industry is required.
• A college level diploma in Mechanical Engineering, drafting techniques or related discipline is required.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD is required.
• Certifications in a related engineering design software or drafting technology an asset
• Team oriented individual with demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and self-directed.
• A college level diploma in Mechanical Engineering, drafting techniques or related discipline is required.
