Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 CAD / year

Duties:
• Interacting with clients from history collection to explanation of diagnostics and treatment;
• Performing routine physical examinations and vaccinations of all domestic species;
• Performing canine/Feline/Rabbit castration and ovariohysterectomy;
• Collecting and analyzing blood, urine, and fecal samples for a minimum diagnostic database;
• Collecting and analyzing thoracic and abdominal radiographs, as well as views pertaining to common musculoskeletal issues (such as fractures or CCL tears);
• Collecting and analyzing samples for microscopic evaluation (i.e. ear cytologies/FNAs);
• Triaging urgent vs. emergency cases and assisting in proper scheduling/referral of cases;
• Managing chronic diseases (i.e. diabetes, heart disease, atopy/allergies);
• Performing interventional surgery (i.e. enterotomies, gastrotomies, splenectomy, cystotomies, mass removals, and laceration repairs);
• Supervising animal health technologists and animal care workers;
• Other similar duties as required.

Requirements:
• 4-5 year university degree in veterinary medicine (as well as any required pre-veterinary studies for the university program, if applicable);
• 5+ years experience as a veterinarian;
• Completion of national certification examinations or equivalent are required;
• Provincial Licensing in British Columbia (College of Veterinarians of British Columbia) is required or ability to obtain;
• Ability to work evening, weekend, and overnight shift rotation is required.
