Job Description:

Duties:

•Supervise, plan, assign, and review the work of dispatch clerks and coordinators responsible for scheduling drivers, planning routes, managing pickups and deliveries, maintaining load records, and handling shipping/receiving documentation.

•Oversee daily dispatch operations, including coordinating transportation schedules, monitoring driver assignments, and ensuring efficient routing to meet delivery timelines.

•Ensure full compliance with company policies, safety and security procedures, transportation regulations, Hours-of-Service rules, and industry standards; participate in updating and improving these procedures.

•Identify and resolve operational issues, delays, customer complaints, and dispatch-related concerns; implement corrective actions and process improvements to maintain service quality.

•Train new dispatch staff and drivers on dispatch procedures, route planning, documentation, safety protocols, and use of dispatching software.

•Requisition office supplies, dispatch tools, and operational materials required for smooth transportation activities.

•Ensure proper functioning of dispatch software, GPS systems, communication tools, and related equipment; arrange maintenance or repairs when needed.

•Conduct performance evaluations for dispatch staff and provide coaching to improve productivity and accuracy.

•May perform dispatching duties directly during peak periods, staff shortages, or emergencies.

Experience

Minium 1-2 years of experience as a supervisor required.
