Today, First Choice Beverage is the only juice plant in Canada that supplies both low acid (dairy, oats, nuts and soy) and high acid (juice) beverage products to Canadian markets. We bring to Canadians many of their favourite healthy drinks, including So Nice Almond Beverages, So Good Soy Beverages, Minute Maid Orange Juice, Simply Orange Juice, and many others. Our products are trusted and sold by the most established grocers in the country, including Loblaws, Sobey’s, Walmart, and Costco.

We are currently looking to hire an experienced Director of Operations. The Director of Operations will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, optimizing resource allocation, and maintaining high quality standards. In addition, the Director of Operations will play a crucial role in supporting the opening of planned new manufacturing sites by overseeing the implementation of processes and ensuring seamless integration with existing operations.

Director of Operations job description:

1. Provide leadership and direction to operational functions at First Choice Beverage, ensure the smooth and efficient execution of juice and dairy production.
2. Formulate and execute comprehensive operational strategies aimed at boosting both productivity and profitability.
3. Enhance operational efficiency and innovation, focusing on automation adoption, process and capability enhancements, lead-time and downtime reduction, and production output maximization.
4. Analyze current processes and leverage data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement.
5. Spearhead the company's initiatives to adopt low-waste and sustainable manufacturing practices.
6. Establish operational standards in planned new manufacturing sites, ensuring smooth implementation and alignment with company standards from the outset.
7. Lead a diverse team and delegate effectively, while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
8. Inspire and empower staff to pursue excellence through effective communication, support, and engagement.
9. Manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to meet production goals.
10. Set KPIs for operational efficiency, quality, on-time delivery, inventory management, and operational P&L.
11. Ensure KPI metrics are measurable, and conduct period reviews to track performance trends and implement corrective actions as needed.
12. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including supply chain and sales to ensure alignment and efficiency.
13. Act as the company’s representative in operational negotiations and foster strong relationships with partners and stakeholders.
14. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and best practices.

This full-time, permanent position is offered with a salary of $127,000 - $135,000 per year. Normal working hours are 40 hours per week. The work location is at 265 Courtneypark Drive East, Mississauga, Ontario, L5T 2T6.

Director of Operations job qualifications:

In order to excel at this position, we are looking for the following:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration or operations; MBA is preferred but not a requirement.
• Minimum of eight (8) or more years of experience in senior operations management. Experience must include manufacturing and operating in an ISO regulated environment.
• Familiar with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, Six Sigma, kaizen, and lean manufacturing.
• A proven track record of enhancing operational efficiency through the implementation of process improvements, optimization of resources, and adoption of best practices.
• Exceptional leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage diverse teams, foster collaboration, and drive high performance.
• Proficient in leading an organization through transformative change, able to successfully navigate operational challenges while engaging stakeholders and aligning teams toward a shared vision for success.
• Adept at addressing inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community, ensuring prompt and effective communication while maintaining strong relationships and compliance with industry standards.
• Able to use Microsoft Office and ERP software.
