Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join our dynamic team and play a key leadership role in overseeing the association's strategic and operational functions. Reporting directly to the President and CEO, you will drive the organization's strategic goals, manage key projects, and build lasting relationships with stakeholders, including government bodies and industry partners. This is an opportunity for a seasoned leader to contribute to an industry at the forefront of sustainability and innovation.
Job Requirements:
Strategic Leadership and Operations Management:
Work alongside the President & CEO to plan, develop, and execute organizational goals and strategies, ensuring alignment with the Association’s long-term vision.
Advise the President & CEO on corporate strategy, industry trends, and regulatory matters to enhance TRAC's overall performance and brand reputation.
Oversee day-to-day operations, identifying opportunities for improvement, driving operational efficiency, and implementing financial and administrative controls.
Work with the President & CEO on budgeting including planning for events, IT, travel, and other cash flow items.
Project and Operational Oversight:
Coordinate and lead the execution of key projects to ensure alignment with TRAC’s strategic priorities.
Oversee the efficient allocation of material, human, and financial resources to implement organizational policies and programs.
Provide insight and support in the development of defined projects and strategies to ensure that initiatives are successfully achieved.
Support the response and resolution of escalated tire industry issues as appropriate.
Government and Stakeholder Relations:
Develop and maintain positive relationships with member companies, industry organizations, government partners, media, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders.
Represent the Association at official functions, negotiations, and meetings to influence industry policies and advocacy efforts.
Collaborate with Association staff to develop communications plans leveraging strategic industry and government partnerships.
Coordinate with entities such as Transport Canada, Environment & Climate Change Canada, US Tire Manufacturers Association, European Tire and Rim Technical Organization, and Global Data Service Organisation for Tyres and Automotive Components on regulatory matters, policy decisions, and standards for the tire industry.
Represent the association (on behalf of members) to the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) as a national body of International Organization of Standardization (ISO) in Canada to lead Technical Committee ISO/TC 31 (Tyre, rims & valves), vice-chair of five Sub Committees (SC3, 4, 5, 6, 7) in SCC and managing SC6 committee in ISO which provides opportunity to collaborate internationally on standards, creates linkage between industry and stakeholders and make final decisions for tire industry at the in national and global levels.
Data and Statistical Analysis:
Lead the collection, aggregation, and reporting of industry data for TRAC’s member companies.
Analyze industry data, extrapolate trends, and report findings to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Oversee data-driven decision-making processes, providing statistical analysis and industry forecasts during Statistical Committee meetings.
Event and Initiative Management:
Coordinate and execute events, campaigns, and symposia by allocating necessary resources and managing project timelines.
Lead and direct discussions at Statistical Committee meetings with members to create industry forecasts and intelligence gathering.
Leadership and Team Development:
Provide mentorship and leadership to the internal team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
Ensure the team is aligned with TRAC’s objectives and well-supported for successful project execution.
