Job Description:
Must haves:
1) Local to Indiana (25 miles from Chicago) - if not local, must be willing to relocate
2) Direct experience in Operations at Part 135 (preferred)
3) Private Aviation Management Experience
4) Private Pilot Experience (will not be flying but needs to meet FAR 119 requirements on Part 135)
5) Chief Pilot background (Preferred)
What you will do:
* Safety and Efficiency Oversight:
* Uphold the company’s commitment to providing safe and efficient air transportation, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant FAA and government regulations.
* Company Growth and Management Engagement:
* Actively engage in company growth, marketing, and management, including responsibilities in budgeting and revenue management.
* Program Planning and Execution:
* Strategize and implement programs involving personnel, equipment, and policies to enhance operational efficiency.
* Immediate Safety Decision-Making:
* Make prompt decisions in matters requiring immediate action to safeguard safety and prioritize the organization's best interests.
* External Representation:
* Represent the company with government bodies, industry partners, and communities to achieve company objectives and participate in industry events.
* Personnel Management Collaboration:
* Collaborate on determining overall personnel requirements.
* Consult with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Pilot, and Director of Maintenance on personnel-related decisions.
* Assist the Chief Pilot with tasks related to interviews, hiring, and discharge of flight personnel.
* Authorized Actions:
* Possess authorization to submit, accept, or surrender company certificates.
* Hold authority to act on behalf of the company, including signing FAA correspondence and Operations Specifications.
* Flight Operations Compliance Oversight:
* Oversee and ensure the safe and compliant execution of all flight operations in alignment with relevant Federal Aviation Regulations, Operations Specifications, and company policies.
* Regulatory Communication and Reporting:
* Maintain communication with the FAA Flight Standards District Office and the National Transportation Safety Board.
* File all necessary reports and documents.
* Manual Revisions and Distribution:
* Develop necessary revisions to the manual.
* Submit proposed revisions to the FSDO and ensure acceptance.
* Distribute approved revisions to all manual holders.
* SMS Support and Coordination:
* Actively support and participate in the Safety Management System (SMS).
* Information Dissemination and Coordination:
* Supervise the distribution and posting of information or memoranda related to changes in company policy, route information, navaids, NOTAMS, and requisitioning of flying aids, aeronautical charts.
* Coordinate with the Director of Maintenance to promptly address mechanical irregularities and discrepancies.
