Director, Building Maintenance & Grounds Job

Directs and manages areas of building maintenance, logistics, custodial, mailroom, grounds, and motor pool. Develops maintenance and improvement plans and establishes department goals, policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the timely provision of comprehensive, integrated services. Develops and manages departmental budgets and provides strategic leadership and supervision to staff. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Skilled in project management, problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence, and persuasion. Ability to function as a systems thinker and be solution-minded with a global perspective.
Ability to take ownership of projects, anticipate department needs and develop appropriate responses, meet deadlines, pay attention to detail, have strong analytical skills, be a quick and continuous learner, and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong public speaking and presentation skills, and ability to effectively communicate change.
Excellent interpersonal skills, a “Customer-Focused” attitude, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to cooperate with other team members to achieve CSU goals and objectives.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
