Responsibilities
Tasks
• Instruct apprentices
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
• Order parts and maintain inventory
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
• Keep maintenance reports and documentation
• Perform repair work on heavy trucks
• Identifying and diagnosing issues with diesel engines and related systems
• Replacing faulty components within diesel engines, fuel injectors, turbochargers, pistons, valves, and belts
• Perform other routine maintenance
• Inspect and evaluate the condition of engine parts, assess fluid levels and quality, test electrical systems, and conduct performance evaluations.
