Diesel Mechanic Job

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered trucks. This position requires flexibility, as the mechanic must be available for after-hours service calls and willing to travel to customer locations and job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

* Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulic components.
* Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on trucks and buses.
* Respond to emergency breakdowns and on-call service requests.
* Travel to sites and remote locations to perform repairs and maintenance.
* Use diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
* Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company and industry standards.
* Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding repairs and recommendations.

Qualifications

* Minimum of 2 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
* Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment independently.
* Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred.
* Ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and emergency calls.
* Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
* Strong work ethic, reliability, and customer service skills.
* Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
