Job Description:
Summary: The Development Research Coordinator supports the Foundation's goals by providing donor research, producing donor profiles, targeting appropriate ask amounts, and prioritizing and evaluating prospects for individual, corporate, and foundation gifts. This position plans and implements a comprehensive system to record and monitor activities associated with moving donors and prospects along the giving continuum. This position conducts and oversees special strategic research projects, for example, data mining and electronic screenings. The Development Research Coordinator has an understanding of the ever-changing trends in fundraising and philanthropy, within Cook Children's as well as in the broader context. The incumbent has knowledge of solicitation strategies and the major gifts process. The Development Research Coordinator has knowledge of a broad array of fundraising practices and procedures, and the ability to apply appropriate fundraising strategies to projects. The incumbent has mastery of Cook Children's prospect tracking and management systems, including relationship management data entry, queries, and reports. The Development Research Coordinator interacts extensively with staff regarding prospect management, and assists with the development of strategies. This position ensures that accurate information is maintained about relationships with donors and prospects. This position coordinates, prioritizes, and monitors research projects to completion. The Development Research Coordinator has a comprehensive grasp of research tasks and instructs others on the research program.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum five years experience in donor research or development field.
  • Proven proficiency with computer applications, including experience with Raiser's Edge, Excel, Word, and donor research software.
