Development Engineer Job

A Development Engineer is needed in Opelika, Alabama.

• Coordinate product development process including testing and technical support for manufacturing of hard plastic automotive parts made with composite materials such as Glass Mat Thermoplastics (“GMT”), Expanded Poly Propylene (“EPP”), sheet molding compounds and other compounds.
• Analyze engineering requirements for product development and lead prototype testing.
• Coordinate manufacturing cost calculations after analyzing part development process and production procedures to proper competitive bidding prices.
• Conduct validation tests of products to ensure safety, quality and specifications requested by customers.
• Ensure newly developed products meet customers’ engineering requirements by communicating with customers’ development team and meet with engineers from customers to identify needs of changes or improvement in product development process.
• Conduct research in the latest development in automotive industry for new parts development.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
