Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and driven Design Engineer with a strong interest in driveline systems to join a high-impact powertrain design team. This is an opportunity to work on advanced torque-transferring components and play a key role in bringing innovative vehicle systems to market.
In your first two years, you will contribute to the design and development of driveline components for an upcoming program. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including suppliers, purchasing, manufacturing plants, and vehicle design groups to ensure seamless integration and successful product launches.
Key aspects of the role include:
Partnering with suppliers through simultaneous engineering, including on-site visits to manufacturing facilities
Developing and releasing engineering drawings and component specifications
Supporting prototype builds, trials, and production launches to ensure quality and performance targets are met
Working with customer-facing teams to proactively address potential issues and enhance end-user experience
You will report to the Driveline Design Manager and contribute to delivering world-class powertrain solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
Create and validate 3D models, 2D drawings, and supplier specifications following established design processes
Lead design reviews, clearly demonstrating how your designs meet functional and performance targets
Analyze gaps related to cost, weight, durability, strength, and warranty performance, and develop data-driven countermeasures
Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners across design, manufacturing, purchasing, and supplier development
Manage supplier performance to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality components aligned with program milestones
Benchmark competitive and internal designs to drive continuous improvement in cost and customer experience
