Job Description:
The Design Consultant responsibilities include:
• Read and interpret blueprints, create design briefings by meeting with Designers, builders or homeowners, and take notes on all client’s needs and preferences for each area of the home to be designed.
• Estimate costs and materials, including installation via PROMOB software, to create a feasible design that meets or exceeds clients’ expectations in storage needs and aesthetics vision.
• Develop detailed plans, renders and 3-D models, showing arrangement of custom and existing furniture, lighting and other fixtures and advise on selection of colours, finishes and materials, interior and exterior lighting, furniture and other items, taking into account clients’ requests and preferences, ergonomic and occupational health standards.
• Alter concept designs post initial presentation, contract signing and on-site measuring, prepare a file with all needed notes and communicate with Unicasa (Dell Anno’s manufacturer) for project review, revisions and final ordering.
• Qualify and communicate with all inbound leads and assist in reaching out to interior designers or potential new clients:
• Identify and execute marketing opportunities for DAV such as lunch & learns with custom home builders, interior design and architect firms, home builders’ associations, or niche interest clients’ groups (i.e.: Holt Renfrew, Fashion Week) on a monthly basis. Expenses paid by DAV.
• Follow DAV design/sales process thoroughly with all client leads assigned to you by the company.
• Maintain knowledge of the latest trends and materials in home design.
• Be prepared and ready for memorable design presentations in the showroom.
• Conduct scheduled or spontaneous structured showroom tours with clients visiting DAV’s showroom, introducing Dell Anno and our approach to working together.
Also, the Design Consultant is expected to:
• Effectively manage multiple simultaneous objectives of varying degrees of importance (also known as: “Multitasking”).
• Work in a multidisciplinary environment.
• On a daily basis, address all requests from clients and DAV partners.
• Be a proficient user of Microsoft Office, and Office 365 including One Drive, SharePoint, WhatsApp, and our CRM Zeerm/Dashboard.
• Be a proficient user of PROMOB design software.
• Being the ambassador of a culture of openness. Everyone’s voice is heard, and everyone is accountable to everyone. No one hides or is protected from feedback and accountability.
• Participation in print or online media campaigns, as well as future trade shows (IDSWest or others).
• Communicate with clients post-sale regarding installation or job completion issues on behalf of DAV if and when necessary.
Necessary Skills/Qualifications:
● College diploma in interior design
● 2-5 years of experience working as a Custom Cabinetry / Furniture Designer with experience in dealing with manufacture orders
● Be a proficient user of PROMOB software
● Portuguese as a first or second language to communicate with our manufacturer in Brazil is an asset.
