Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand
Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products
Receive and relay information to central dispatch
Transport and handle dangerous goods
Load and unload goods
Sort packages
Follow directions and read map
Use maps and other trip-planning aids
Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems
Provide customer service
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Professionalism in customer service
Job Requirements:
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Work setting: Courier company
Credentials: Class 5/SF/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles)
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Work under pressure, Handling heavy loads, Overtime required
Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
