Short Description

The Enterprise Architect (Datacenter Networking – F5) will serve as a primary technical resource for F5 configuration, security, management, and troubleshooting. The position focuses on maintaining high availability, performance, and security across multiple F5 environments supporting various state agencies.

Job Responsibilities

Configure and maintain F5 BIG-IP modules (LTM, GTM, ASM, APM) in a large-scale enterprise network.
Work closely with developers and agency teams to review and implement F5 recommendations for applications.
Handle certificate management — including installation, renewal, and troubleshooting.
Manage and maintain a ticket queue in Remedy Ticketing System to ensure SLA compliance.
Participate in design and troubleshooting sessions for new and existing applications.
Read, respond, and comply with communications promptly; answer support calls and emails as needed.
Perform device-level operations, including firmware upgrades, CVE remediation, and object clean-up.
Utilize BIG-IQ for configuration backups and device management.
Collaborate with teams to implement Cloudflare solutions for security and performance optimization.
Required Skills and Experience

F5 LTM: Hands-on experience with creating VIPs, troubleshooting, managing certificates, and developing or modifying iRules. (3–5 years)
F5 GTM: Expertise in creating and configuring Wide IPs for global traffic management. (3–5 years)
F5 ASM: Proficient in creating and fine-tuning application security policies, troubleshooting in blocking and learning modes. (3–5 years)
F5 APM: Skilled in creating and troubleshooting SAML authentication policies. (3–5 years)
Device-Level Operations: Strong knowledge of CVE remediation, iHealth/qkview analysis, device upgrades, and BIG-IQ backups. (3–5 years)
Cloudflare (Desired): Experience with configuration, performance optimization, and security management. (2–5 years)
Enterprise Networking: Demonstrated experience managing and supporting large-scale enterprise network environments. (3–5 years)
Microsoft Office Suite: Competent in documentation, reporting, and communication using Microsoft Office tools. (3–5 years)

Ability to analyze, diagnose, and resolve complex F5 system issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Details

Onsite presence required at least 2 days per week at the designated State of Michigan facility.
May involve occasional after-hours work for maintenance or emergency troubleshooting.
Knowledge of Remedy Ticketing System preferred.
