Custodian Job

We are seeking dedicated, reliable Custodians to join our team. The Custodians will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment for our facilities on a flexible schedule that is responsive to the treatment centre sessions. Hours and schedule may vary.

Duties

- Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs

- Empty trash cans and other waste containers

- Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings

- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchens, and other office and residential spaces and
fixtures

- Work with minimal supervision

- Perform minor repairs on appliances

- Perform safety and security checks

- Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies

- Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair

- Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens

- Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas

- Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and
electrical systems
Skills
- Experience in facilities maintenance and commercial cleaning is preferred but not required
- Ability to clean and maintain various surfaces and materials with attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and reliability

To maintain a sense of safety and wellness for our clients, our treatment centre policies requires:

- Sobriety and abstinence from alcohol, marijuana/THC, and illicit substances

- Clear driving abstract

- Criminal record check clearance

- Openness to ongoing personal wellness, training and development regarding treatment topics with the team (i.e. trauma, cultural oppression, resilience), and Kackaamin approach to care. Priority recruits include Indigenous and newcomers to Canada with work permits.
