Job Description:
The Cowhand/Agricultural Labourer supports day-to-day operations on a dairy farm. This is an entry-level, hands-on role assisting with the care of dairy cattle and general farm maintenance. The position is full-time and permanent. On-the-job training is provided, and prior agricultural experience is an asset but not required.
Main Duties
Assist with milking cows and cleaning milking equipment (training provided)
Feed and water dairy cattle and assist with bedding and stall upkeep
Clean barns, pens, and work areas; remove manure and maintain sanitary conditions
Assist with moving and handling livestock under supervision
Support general livestock care and animal husbandry tasks
Perform general farm labour and basic maintenance of tools, fencing, and equipment
Follow farm safety procedures, animal welfare standards, and biosecurity protocols
Carry out other routine farm duties as assigned
Work Environment
On-site farm work in barns and outdoor settings
Physically demanding tasks (lifting, bending, standing, walking)
Early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required based on farm operations
