Cost Estimating Specialist Job

A Cost Estimating Specialist is needed in Duluth, Georgia.

• Analyze IT project requirements, engineering specifications, and client proposals to develop accurate cost estimates for hardware, software, integration services, and system implementation.
• Collaborate with technical and sales teams to evaluate solution feasibility, resource needs, and performance metrics in support of tailored IT solutions.
• Research market rates and vendor pricing to prepare competitive cost projections for advanced IT systems and enterprise technologies.
• Develop detailed cost breakdowns for project bids, proposals, and procurement plans, including labor, materials, subcontracting, and system support services.
• Monitor actual costs throughout project lifecycles and conduct variance analysis to ensure budget adherence and recommend cost-control strategies.
• Prepare and present cost estimate reports to internal stakeholders and external clients, clearly explaining assumptions, methodologies, and cost drivers.
• Maintain a database of historical cost data and vendor pricing to improve the accuracy and efficiency of future estimates.
• Support strategic decision-making by identifying cost-saving opportunities and financial risks associated with IT system implementation or upgrades.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Economics or Statistics.
