Terms of employment: Permanent Full time (Onsite)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week
Wage range: $75,000 – $90,000 annually
Compensation subject to annual review and increase based on inflation, cost of living, merit and performance. Compensation offered may vary depending on the applicant’s level of experience, qualifications and other factors. Potential for discretionary annual bonus.

Position Summary
The position of Corporate Electrical Technologist is responsible for supporting the design, development, testing, installation and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems at our plants. The position involves diagnosing and overcoming production problems, improving safety stems and enhancing overall operational efficiency at the company’s plants. Reporting to the Corporate Electrical Engineering Manager, the Corporate Electrical Technologist will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and visualization programming experience with Rockwell platforms is required and any siemens programming experience is considered an asset. Experience with control system obsolescence upgrades would also be an asset.
Job Duties
• Designing, test, commission, start up, recondition & work with current equipment configurations & to Engineer new technologies.
• Support reconditioning and upgrading of electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety, industry standards and regulatory codes
• Work with plants to overcome production problems and improve safety systems
• Provide complete electrical assistance including troubleshooting, project engineering and project management to Plants
• Update existing legacy technologies to current standards
• Programming automation and controls systems and improving existing PLC programs including servo drives and A/C drives
• Electrical project management including scheduling, financial, and management of contractor’s work
• Labor-hour estimation, work planning, scheduling, coordination, and reporting
• Act as corporate resource for automation systems development and implementation

Job Requirements:
Experience/Skills and other requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, preferred or a diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology
• 5+ years' related work experience as an electrical engineer, electrical technician/technologist or any combination of these positions
• Proficient in reading and developing Electrical Control System and Single Line Drawings and Schematics
• Proficient in Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programming; Siemens programming knowledge would be an asset
• Experience with control system obsolescence upgrades would be an asset
• Knowledge of Ethernet networks and network communication standards
• Safety control systems and Safety Logic Programming with zoning
• PSR reports
• Computer skills – AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel, Word, etc.
• Excellent English verbal and written skills
• Some travel to various sites in North America will be required
• Proven experience with supervising contractors during installation and commissioning phases of projects
• Standard writing and implementations
