Corporate Controller Job

What You’ll Do

· Lead Accounting Operations: Oversee GL, close process, intercompany transactions, and statutory reporting under Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).

· Drive Compliance: Manage quarterly and annual filings (Yellow Book, premium tax returns) and partner with auditors and regulators (NAIC, TDI).

· Strengthen Controls: Maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies; coordinate audits and state insurance exams.

· Advise on Technical Accounting: Evaluate new products and transactions; monitor emerging standards.

· Collaborate Across Functions: Align with Actuarial on reserves and capital adequacy; support ERP and reporting automation.

· Develop Talent: Mentor and grow a high-performing accounting team.

What We’re Looking For

· CPA required + Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance.

· 5+ years progressive accounting experience (Big 4 preferred).

· 2+ years in statutory accounting leadership (SAP).

· Insurance industry expertise—life products, reinsurance, NAIC reporting.

· Proven team leadership and transformation experience.

· Strong communication skills for executive and Board presentations.
