Holman is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to join our Retail Corporate Accounting team! This position will report directly to the Director of Accounting and is a hybrid role based in Vancouver, WA.
About Holman
Since 1924, Holman has evolved into one of the largest integrated automotive service companies in North America. With a unique set of complementary services in fleet management, upfitting and equipment, and commercial and retail vehicle sales, we’re always Driving What’s Right.
Holman's retail division, where our story began, is one of the largest privately held dealership groups in the United States, operating 74 new vehicle franchises representing 34 brands, including BMW, Lexus, Porsche, and Land Rover, from the Pacific Northwest to the East Coast.
The Opportunity
We're seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to join our Retail Corporate Accounting team, reporting directly to the Director of Accounting.
You'll own the full cycle accounting for 3 of our 5 holding companies (those with the most complex corporate department structures) and lead the preparation of quarterly standalone GAAP financial statements for our Retail division, audited annually by KPMG. Strong performers in this role are positioned for expanded responsibilities and advancement within the finance organization.
What makes this role unique: Holman has invested in systems and centralized operations that handle transactional accounting (AP, AR, cash), allowing you to focus on work that requires judgment: month-end close, financial reporting, variance analysis, and team leadership. OneStream automates our consolidation and budgeting processes across 110+ entities, allowing you to focus on the bigger picture.
This role combines solid accounting work with leadership responsibility, requiring someone who can manage volume and scale while developing talent and driving continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
Financial Accounting & Reporting (60%)
Manage full-cycle accounting for 3 assigned holding companies, including month-end close processes in OneStream across 110+ consolidated entities
Prepare quarterly standalone consolidated financial statements for the Retail division with footnote disclosures in full compliance with US GAAP (private company - no SEC reporting)
Oversee Retail Central Services accounting for 10+ departments, partnering with department leaders on planning and budgeting (leveraging OneStream), and delivering actionable variance analysis that identifies cost optimization opportunities and risks
Manage shared accounting processes including intercompany transactions and intangibles
Oversee long-term debt accounting in collaboration with the Treasury team to ensure accurate financial statement presentation
Deliver monthly parent company reporting packages with accuracy and timeliness
Partner cross-functionally with Dealership Accounting, Centralized Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Legal, FP&A, and parent Corporate Accounting teams
Leadership & Team Development (20%)
Lead and develop one direct report (Accounting Supervisor) who manages a team of staff and senior accountants
Serve as a resource and mentor to other managers on the Retail Corporate Accounting team (dotted-line responsibility)
Build team capabilities through coaching, performance feedback, and professional development
Participate in leadership development programs including Holman Connect (our annual manager retreat)
Foster a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
Process Improvement & Strategic Projects (15%)
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and improve reporting accuracy across a multi-entity consolidation environment
Drive special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by the Director of Accounting
External Audit (5%)
Serve as primary Corporate Accounting contact for the annual standalone audit with KPMG
Manage preparation and delivery of all corporate-driven PBC (Prepared by Client) schedules and support requests
