Job Description:
Top Slice is Thornhill’s kosher pizza shop that promises to tantalize your taste buds with an array of scrumptious delights. Our menu boasts an impressive selection, ranging from mouthwatering pizzas with an assortment of flavourful toppings to crispy and golden fries and poutine that will leave you craving for more. At Top Slice, we blend tradition with innovation to deliver a kosher dining adventure that will leave you wanting to return for another slice of heaven.
At this time, we are looking to hire an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team for a full-time, permanent position.
Duties will include:
• Plan, prepare and cook pizzas, including dough, sauces, and toppings, according to established recipes and quality standards
• Plan, prepare and cook other menu items such as appetizers, salads, falafel, wraps and pasta
• Plan, prepare and cook dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Estimate food requirements and maintain inventory of food, supplies, and equipment
• Ensure the kitchen is fully prepped for service (e.g. cutting ingredients, preparing sauces, marinating, etc.)
• Ensure superior quality of food once it leaves the kitchen
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Perform the above while ensuring strict adherence to Kashrut (Kosher dietary laws) and Ontario Food Safety Laws and Requirements at all times
Requirements of the position:
• Secondary School Diploma
• At least 1 year of experience as a Cook
• Knowledge of Kashrut (Kosher dietary laws)
• Safe Food handling certificates, WHMIS and CPR certifications are assets
• Good command of English
Compensation/Work Schedule:
• Permanent, full-time position
• $36.00 per hour
• 30 hours of work per week
• Applicable overtime pay will apply after 44 hours of work per week
