Cook Job

We need one (1) Cook who can start immediately. Our restaurant, Longhorn Saloon & Grill specializes in Western Cuisine. Preference will be given to cooks who have experience in Western cuisine, but it is not a job requirement. Training will be provided to cooks who want to learn. We are in Ponoka, Alberta.

Wages:
$17.50 per hour for 30 to 44 hours per week

Terms of Employment:
Permanent; Full Time

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Languages:
English

Education:
Secondary school education certificate

Experience:
1 – 2 years experience in commercial cooking

Job Duties:
Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes and food; Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order suppliers; Inspect kitchen and food service areas; Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food; Order supplies and equipment; Supervise kitchen staff and helpers; Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment; Clean kitchen and work areas; Manage kitchen operations.
