Position Summary

Mr. Mikes Steakhouse Casual is seeking skilled and motivated Cooks to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes and quality standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. This position plays a key role in delivering exceptional food quality and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
-Prepare and cook complete meals and individual menu items according to recipes, specifications, and company standards.
-Prepare and cook steaks, burgers, seafood, poultry, appetizers, salads, and other menu items in a timely manner.
-Ensure food quality, portion control, presentation, and consistency meet established standards.
-Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with food safety regulations.
-Maintain inventory levels and report shortages of food products and kitchen supplies to management.
-Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food products following food safety procedures.
-Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, workstations, and food preparation areas.
-Follow safe food handling, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
-Assist in the preparation of ingredients, sauces, stocks, and other food items as required.
-Monitor food temperatures and ensure proper storage of all food products.
-Minimize food waste and contribute to cost-control initiatives.
-Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team members to ensure efficient service.
-Assist in training and mentoring new kitchen employees when required.
-Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or General Manager.

Qualifications
-Completion of secondary school is preferred.
-Previous experience as a cook in a restaurant, hotel, or food service establishment.
-Experience working with grills, fryers, ovens, and commercial kitchen equipment.
-Knowledge of food preparation techniques, food safety practices, and sanitation standards.
-Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
-Strong organizational and time-management skills.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-Food Handler Certification.

Working Conditions
-Standing for extended periods.
-Working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
-Ability to lift and carry food products and kitchen supplies.
-Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

-$16-$19 per hour based on experience
