Job duties and Responsibilities: -
· Prepare and cook nutritious meals, snacks, and individual dishes for children at various daycare locations.
· Prepare meals according to approved menus, recipes, required portion sizes, and estimated food requirements.
· Prepare special or modified meals for children with food allergies, dietary restrictions, or special dietary requirements.
· Carefully identify and avoid ingredients that may cause allergic reactions and prevent cross-contamination during food preparation.
· Plan menus, determine portion sizes, estimate food requirements, and order food supplies and equipment as required.
· Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards are maintained.
· Supervise and train kitchen staff and helpers in food preparation, cooking, and proper food handling procedures.
· Monitor food quality, freshness, temperature, and portion control.
· Maintain records of food supplies, equipment, inventory, and assist with inventory management.
· Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, cooking equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
· Coordinate with daycare staff regarding children's dietary requirements, allergies, and special meal instructions.
· Manage day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure meals are prepared and served in a safe and timely manner.
