Job Description:
Prepare and cook meals according to dietary requirements and medical nutrition plans.
Follow instructions from dietitians, nutritionists, or head chefs for special patient diets (e.g., low-sodium, diabetic, texture-modified, allergen-free).
Portion meals accurately according to prescribed meal plans.
Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene in compliance with health regulations.
Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and receiving food supplies.
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and utensils.
Assist in menu planning based on patient needs, seasonal availability, and nutritional guidelines.
Coordinate with kitchen staff, dietitians, and healthcare teams to ensure timely meal delivery.
Document meal preparation, substitutions, or modifications as required by facility policy.
May assist in training or supervising junior kitchen staff.
